Guy Bourdin is exposed till the 1st of March at the Somerset House in London.
IF YOU LIKE BIG BUTT AND YOU CANNOT LIE THIS SHOW IS FOR YOU !
Bourdin started photography in French Air Force during his military service in Dakar (1948-1949). He met Man Ray in 1950. Hence his surrealist influence. Bourdin worked for Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and shot ad campaigns for Chanel, Issey Miyake, Emanuel Ungaro, Gianni Versace, Loewe, Pentax and Bloomingdale’s.
Either poetic, worrying or provocative; Bourdin’s pictures juggle between cinematic imagery and fashion photography.
The exhibition transports you to Bourdin’s sublime universe. A universe that mixes porno chic, surrealism, and shoe commercial.
